Obituary for Merrill Henry Hinderks

Merrill Hinderks, 74, of Jewell, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Church east of Kamrar with Pastor Peter Mueller officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery at Jewell. Visitation will be held at the Community Church from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Merrill Henry Hinderks, son of Henry and Jennie Klooster Hinderks, was born January 18, 1937 on a farm north of Kamrar. He attended Liberty No. 4 Rural School of Kamrar. On January 21, 1971, he married Lorraine E. Claude in Jewell. The couple resided in the Jewell area. Merrill farmed and operated his own truck until he retired in 2010 due to failing health. Mr. Hinderks is survived by his wife, Lorraine; sons and daughter-in-laws, Mitch and Debbie Hegland of Jewell; Craig and Sandra Hegland of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Lanita Hinderks of Webster City; sister-in-laws, Luella Hinderks, Karen Hinderks, and Ruth Hinderks all of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Hinderks; brothers, Arvin, Kenneth, Dennis, and Leo Hinderks. He was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar.
