A tribute to Jorden...my little lawn mower boy...Yeah...it's been years since he came to me and asked if he could mow my lawn for $5 and I offered him $10 if he mowed with our mower and $15 if he used his parents and the rest was a development of me getting to know one of the most well disciplined and amazing self starters I ever met...I knew he had a dream and I tried to help...I honestly didn't need a "lawn mower boy" but there was something about Jorden that I knew, I knew this was the beginning of an amazing relationship...as he grew older I gave him more responsibilities and in the meantime he would stop by and talk often. From our conversations I knew that he was going to make something of himself...He always had goals and ambitions and he was going to make that happen, and he always had a great big smile on his face even when he was rocking the braces...as he got older his impromptu visits became more frequent, often bring his younger siblings Reid and Tatum in toll...He'd talk about youth football and earning money for his car and so on and so forth...I remember when we had a very dry summer and he came up to my door and asked me if we had a garden hose...I said yes out back by the spigot...he then went home grabbed his parents sprinkler end and started watering my lawn...as I'm watching him doing this I'm thinking...well, that was so sweet...then it dawned on me...he was actually watering my lawn so he could mow again...lol...it was then that I knew this kid had the intelligence to make it big...I had neighborhood boys coming over offering to undercut what I paid him and I would have none of it...He was my boy...then he kept growing and eventually entered high school...but he never forgot about my lawn. So then I had him start picking up debris around the house and asked him to burn it...he decided to use our burn barrel outside of our garage...unfortunately, there was a gas can close to the barrel...and the gas can exploded...he had the wits about him to get the fire out before it blew up are garage ;)...but needless to say we had the entire Woolstock fire dept at our house...He really did make our life interesting and we loved him for it...as he got older and more busy he started having other neighbor boys to complete his duties at my house...and one day my daughter came over and noticed that I had other kids doing my yard and asked what happened to Jorden and I told her that he has them do it when he can't...and she was like...OMG!!! he's got employees??? Yup that was Jorden...always thinking...the last thing he ever did for me was blow out my yard...the day he died...I still have his facebook message asking me if it was ok and then letting me know what he did...he was always so thorough and thought ahead about what he thought would help me most...He will be sorely missed in our household and is irreplaceable...I loved him like he was family...not just my "lawn mower boy"...my condolences go to his family and friends...He may gone but his legacy will live on with all of the great things he did for today's youth...he will be sorely missed by all
