Obituary for Howard Johnson

Howard Dean Johnson son of Albert and Carrie Hanson Johnson was born October 5, 1929 on the family farm northeast of Stratford. He received his education from the Stratford Rural School and Williams Public School. On October 17, 1948 he married Shirley Lee Reinsel in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. In 1961, the couple purchased the families farm west of Williams. Howard retired from farming in 1972, when he began working as a mechanic for Avery Farm Service until 1977, he then was hired as a mechanic for FS Seeds near Williams. Howard retired from FS in 1991. Mrs. Johnson died November 23, 2000. Howard is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Don Johnson of Williams, Doug and Cindy Johnson of Alden, Drew Johnson and friend Lori of Kings Bay, GA, Amy Johnson of Lakeside; daughter, Dianne Johnson of Randall; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Shirley, he was preceded in death by his son, David Johnson in 2003; his granddaughter, Sarah Johnson in 1976; his sister, Pearl Johnson and brother, in infancy, Robert Leon Johnson.
