Obituary for Wm Roger Clausen

William Roger Clausen, son of Carl and Rita Powers Clausen, was born December 14, 1935 at Stanhope. He received his education at the Stanhope Public School, graduating in 1953. On September 7, 1958, he married Ethel M. Kelley at Stanhope. The couple farmed south of Stanhope, where he raised feeder cattle. In the mid 80's, he worked for Traffic Marking Services until his retirement. Roger is survived by his wife, Ethel; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Shelley Clausen, daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Rod Springer all of Stanhope; grandchildren, Seth and Sarah Clausen; great-grandson, Wyatt Clausen; sister, Marjorie Johnson of California; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Peter Johnson. Roger had several great passions in his life -- raising cattle, trading horses, and doing things for his family and friends. His memberships included - Stanhope Parish Church, Acorn Masonic Lodge # 601 of Stratford, Order of Eastern Star at Stratford, Hamilton County Saddle Club, and volunteer for the Dayton Rodeo.
