Obituary for William Fisher

William Reginald Fisher, son of Fred and Elsie Fitzlaff Fisher, was born June 9, 1924 at Jackson, Minnesota. The family moved to Webster City in the Fall of 1924. Bill received his education in the Webster City school system, earning his GED in 1969. He worked with his father in the family business as a truck driver at the age of 16. During W.W. II, he served with the U.S. Army -- Medical Corps, in the European Theatre of Action. On August 17, 1946, he married Cleo LaVonne Grove at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. Following his discharge, he worked at McCollough, Inc. then Modern Farm Systems as a truck driver. He worked as a sales manager for Kueen's Trailer Ranch from 1986 until his retirement. Bill is survived by his wife, Cleo; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Steve Anderson of Webster City; Sheila and Roger Port of Franklin TN; Cindy and Arvid Huisman of Ankeny; 8 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Noni Fisher of Clinton; Lulu and Eldon Kinnetz of Webster City; Dorothy Irwin and Rozella Knisley, both of California City, CA; Pat and Dan Frane of Buena Park, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Parrish and brother in infancy, Gerald Fisher.
