The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Walter Treibel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Hello, I am a niece of Uncle Walter. He was also my godfather. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful uncle - I got to sing Happy Birthday to him I think it was in 2003, at one of my daughter's weddings, which happened to be on his birthday. We did not get to see each other real often as he lived in Wausau and then in Iowa, and I moved to Milwaukee, WI from Wausau, when I was 7 years old with my family (my Dad was his older brother, Luverne) and have lived in Milwaukee ever since. So we saw each other when we would go to Wausau to visit relatives & at weddings, funerals, and exchanged Christmas cards and spoke on the phone occasionally. I am glad he is free from pain and sorrow now and in Heaven with my Grand parents and my Dad and Mom and my sister, Carol.
