Obituary for Violet Lucille Gregory

Violet Gregory, 96, of Webster City, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Patrick Wiedemeier officiating. Burial will be in Cass Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 24, 2104 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Violet Lucille Gregory, daughter of Roy and Elva Pringle Craig, was born April 18, 1918 on the family farm, south of Webster City, near Homer. She attended Webster City Schools. She married Donald R. Gregory on August 25, 1937 in Clarion. The couple resided in Webster City. They owned and operated Gregory Tree Service and Don and Vi's Rental and Radiator Shop. She also worked at Woolworths for 17 years, Spurgeon's and J.C. Penneys for five years. Don preceded her in death on June 17, 1980. Violet is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law; John and Carolyn Gregory of Beaufort, SC, Richard Gregory of Webster City; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two children in infancy, David and Ladona and a sister, Mary Anne Paul. Violet was a member of the First Baptist Church.
