Obituary for Verlon Klaver

Verlon Klaver, 71, a long time Kamrar area farmer died, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kamrar, with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the First Presbyterian Cemetery. The Klaver family requests no flowers. Verlon Roy Klaver, son of George A. and Hattie Arends Klaver, was born March 11, 1939. He attended and graduated from Kamrar High School in 1956. On April 9, 1961 he was married to Judith Crouch. The couple resided on a farm at Kamrar. They have a son Barry Klaver and a daughter Kristin Pruismann. Verlon was a life long farmer. He was a charter member of the Kamrar Lions Club and held many offices in the organization. He was honored for 44 years of volunteer service on the Kamrar Fire and Rescue Teams. For many years he worked as a seed corn salesman for O's Gold and Asgrow Seed Co. He also drove a school bus for several years. Verlon loved his grandchildren and going to their activities, golfing, camping, traveling, his morning coffee at the CO-OP and his many friends and family. Verlon is survived by his wife, Judy of Kamrar; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Kristen Klaver of Kamrar; their children Jacob, Shane and Trevor; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Gary Pruismann of Stratford; their children Gregory and wife Emily, Kellie and Katelin; sister, June Roe of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; 1 sister; and an infant son Brian. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served on many boards.
