Obituary for Ronald Luvern Hemmen

Ronald Hemmen, 82, of Webster City, died November 1, 2015 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Peter Mueller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ronald Luvern Hemmen, son of Harold and Ruth Seaboch Hemmen, was born March 10, 1933 in Jewell. He lived in Hamilton County all of his life and graduated from Webster City High School. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1955 and was stationed in Austria. On December 31, 1955 he was united in marriage to Leila Brim in Webster City. He owned an operated Consolidated Freight and Storage, C&K Transport and T&R Tire. Ron is survived by his wife Leila of Webster City; children, Rhonda (Randall) Peterson of Des Moines, Sonia (John) Humble of Woolstock, Darren (Michon) Hemmen of Waukee; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Paula Etter Hollaway; granddaughter, Renae Holloway; great-grandson, Jeremiah Jannenga; brother, Wayne Hemmen; and sister, Wanda Maier. Ron was a member of Kamrar Community Church, the American Legion Post #191. He was a past President of the Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Lions Club and was recognized as "Business Man of the Year."
