Obituary for Roberta Trees

Roberta R. Trees, 92, of Webster City, was promoted to glory on August 29, 2008 at Crestview Senior Living. A Celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Ray Block officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery southeast of Stanhope. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at Fosters. Roberta Ruth Masterson, daughter of Robert and Lillian Becker Masterson was born on January 13, 1916 in Dallas Center, Iowa. She received her education from Laverne, Iowa Grade and High School, graduating in 1934. On September 2, 1940, she married Ralph M. Trees in Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple resided in several communities following Ralph's career. Roberta's main vocation was in postal and secretarial work. Mr. Trees died in January of 1976. She moved to Stanhope that same year. She had been residing at Crestview since October of 2002. Roberta is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Hibbard of San Diego, CA., Louise and Harold Abbas of Des Moines, Cora Mae Evans of Stanhope, Betty Williams of Corwith, Margaret and Edwin Trettin, Frances and Harold Trettin all of Rockford, Lorraine Schrooten of and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Floyd L. Masterson and sister, Anna M. Godfrey. Roberta was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford, Iowa.
