Obituary for Robert Louis Krejci

Robert L. Krejci, 82, of Stratford and a former Webster City resident, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center with his family at his side, he went to meet his Heavenly Father. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Robert Louis Krejci, son of Louis and Margaret Johnson Krejci, was born April 12, 1929 at Cedar Rapids. At the age of six, he moved with his family to Eldora where he received his education. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy for three years, during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he returned to Eldora where he worked at a grocery store and become the meat manager. On January 11, 1953, he married Dorothy Walsh at Eldora, Iowa. The couple moved to Oskaloosa in March of 1956 where he worked at the United Food Store as meat manager. Bob was transferred to the Webster City United Foods in March of 1962 as meat manager, later becoming the HyVee Food Store and was employed there for 23 years. He retired in 1989. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy; daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Joe Black of Jackson, MN; grandchildren, JoDee Olson (Josh) and Ryan Black (Katie); three great-grandchildren, Ella and Grace Black and Steiger Olson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Ann Brenaman. He was a trustee at Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford, a former member of Izaak Walton, a member of the Webster City Moose Family Center and served on the Stratford City Council.
