Obituary for Robert Cahill

Robert L. Cahill, 80, of Webster City, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Crestview Senior Living at Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery at Fort Dodge. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday. Robert Leroy Cahill, son of William and Edith Lukehart Cahill, was born September 25, 1928 at Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge Community Schools. On September 11, 1948, he married Dora Amanda Schoenfisch at Fort Dodge. His longtime vocation was welding and had been employed at Coates Manufacturing in Fort Dodge for several years. Mrs. Cahill died November 28, 2005. Robert is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and David Sundeen of Greenville, TX; Jeannie and LaRue Small of Algona; Kathy and Everette Salmons of Pembroke, GA; Patsy and Dale Johnson of Cheshite,OR; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Kathy Cahill of Danville, IL; Robert and Janet Cahill of Hudson, FL; Steve and Janice Cahill of Columbus, OH; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special friend, Martha Darling of Webster City; several brothers and sisters of Dora's; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Robert was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church; American Legion Post # 191 and a former member of the Amvets of Fort Dodge.
