Obituary for Phyllis Hilpipre Yoder

Phyllis Hilpipre Yoder, 81, of Webster City, a former Woolstock resident, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held Friday 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Foster’s. Phyllis Marie McCollough, daughter of Ralph and Marie Pinkele McCollough, was born December 4, 1926 at Webster City. She attended Webster City schools,graduating from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1945. On April 6, 1946, she married Virgil Lloyd Hilpipre at Webster City.The couple farmed for a short time after their marriage, later operating taverns in Webster City and Woolstock. They raised mink from 1955 to 1969 at Woolstock. They retired in 1969 and continued to reside at Woolstock. Mr. Hilpipre died May 1, 1977.In 1978, she married Martin Yoder, Sr., he died in 1985.She continued to reside at Woolstock. She moved to Southfield Wellness Community in January of 2006. Phyllis is survived by sons and daughters-in-law,Denny and Carolyn Hilpipre of Woolstock; Bruce and Kathy Hilpipre and Chris and Joni Hilpipre, all of Webster City; grandchildren, Sara and Shane Faltys; Nicholas Hilpipre; Alyssa and Duane Schwering; Ashley and Kenric Weinschenk; Jason Hilpipre; Christopher Hilpipre; Dena and Derek Konrad; step-grandson and spouse, Roger and Christine Yoder; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law,Carol Wenger of Timberville, WV; Pat and Leo Klaver of Kamrar; brother and sister-in-law, Thyrol and Alene McCollough of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by son, Roger Lynn Hilpipre in 1976 and step-son, Mike Yoder; her parents; brothers, Melvin, Robert, Alvin, Lyle,Dean, Carl and Gale McCollough; sisters, Doris Fink; Barbara Trampel, Evelyn Timmons; Beverly and Betty McCollough (twins) in infancy; Walter, a son in infancy. She was a member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church and Woolstock American Legion Auxiliary.
