Obituary for Patricia Bernard

Patricia Bernard, 58, of Webster City, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center at Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Patricia Anne Bernard, daughter of Francis and Eleanor Luppes Bernard, was born January 5, 1951 at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system, graduating in 1969. She attended I.C.C.C. then in 1973 she graduated from Northwest Missouri State at Maryville, with a double major of Library Science and French. In 1980, she received her masters in Library Science and Educational Media Specialist. In 1974, she was employed by the B. Raymer school district. From 1974 to 2003, she was employed by the Calamus Wheatland school district. She retired in 2003. Patricia is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Berkeley and Janice Bernard of Okemos, MI; Rodney and Sally Bernard of Clear Lake; Kevin and Karen Bernard of Des Moines; nieces and nephews, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan and Melanie Bernard; Meribeth Smyk; Melissa and Jeff Robertson; Ryan and Sherry Reiner; Heather and Ryan Gulbranson; Mike and Samantha Camp; several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Patricia was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Calamus Lions Club, Iowa Geneology and the Hamilton Heritage Hunters.
