Obituary for Nuan --- Khalek

Nuan Khalek, 71, of Webster City, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Cass Center Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Sayabury, Laos, the daughter of Tha and Pai Chanty. She married Chan Khalek in Laos. He preceded her in death in 1967. Nuan moved to Webster City in 1979. Nuan is survived by children, Wanh Kannuan, Boua (Somboon) Vankham and Pat (Lynne) Kannuan all of Webster City; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Tan Khalek and brother, Keo Khalek. She was preceded in death by her parents, five children, three brothers and four sisters.
