Obituary for Muriel Lavonne Kilgore

Muriel Kilgore, 95, of Lehigh, died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Richard Laird officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from noon until service time on Tuesday. Muriel Lavonne Ringgenberg, daughter of Orange and Susie Hatfield Ringgenberg, was born January 7, 1919 in Webster County. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1937. She later received a business and nursing degree. She married John Kilgore on August 20, 1949 in Las Vegas NV. The couple resided in California while John was with the Navy. The couple then moved to their farm in Lehigh. Muriel was a secretary with Lockheed in California. After moving to Lehigh, she taught at a one room school house and later was a nurse in Fort Dodge. Muriel is survived by her husband, John of Stratford; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Del Keigley of Ames; grandsons, Josh Runge and Aaron Keigley. Muriel was a member of the Lehigh Christian Church, taught Sunday school and did mission work with orphans. She enjoyed making crafts, cooking and most of all, spending time with her family.
