Obituary for Mike Knudsen

Mike Knudsen, 55, of Webster City, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dr. Mike Kroona and Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Funeral arrangements were made with Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Michael David Knudsen, son of Harold and Joan (Hoover) Knudsen, was born May 10, 1954 in Ames. He received his education in the Webster City School System, graduating in 1972, he also attended Iowa Central Community College. He began farming with his father, west of Webster City. On April 4, 1981, he married Diane Orton of Webster City. The couple farmed in the Duncombe and Webster City area. Mike is survived by his wife, Diane; sons, Matthew Knudsen of Sioux City and Jeremy Knudsen of Ames; close family friend, Shauna Olson of Overland Park, KS; father, Harold Knudsen of Duncombe; sister, Jean Knudsen of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Joan and brother, Steven Knudsen. He was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mike was a loving father and husband. His two boys were his pride and joy, he loved spending time as a family. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, and his faith was very important to him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials.
