Obituary for Melvarose Knoll

Melvarose Knoll, 92, formerly of Webster City, IA peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Valley Ridge Presbyterian Home in Burnsville MN. A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, December 17th at 1 P.M.at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Melvarose was born August 25, 1923 in Fort Dodge, IA to Austin and Telva (Mattox) Alexander. She grew up in Webster City and graduated from Lincoln High. She married Chester Knoll on October 20, 1942 in Portland, OR. As her husband was an Air Force pilot, forester and grade school teacher, she spent 37 years moving her family to many places including Morocco, Japan and various states across this country. Besides being an amazing mother of three, she worked as an accountant. As a lifelong member of the Webster City Church of Christ, she was a constant volunteer. Her self-sacrifice had no end, extending past the end care of her husband, mother, and daughter, to her church and community. She was preceded in death by her loving husband on May 13, 1979, as well as by her parents and daughter, Patti Knoll. She moved to Minnesota in 2006 to more closely grace the lives of some of her family. She is survived by her children Rick (Kathe) Knoll of Prior Lake, MN and Pytr (Mona) Knoll of Cedar Rapids, IA, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her sister, Eleanor Greiner, Alabama and brother, John Alexander, Idaho. Her grandchildren will remember her as "the most selfless person" and "the strongest woman by far," of all. We rejoice that she is Home for Christmas and find immense peace that she knew and put her trust in the Lord. Rest in peace Melvarose Knoll, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Write a personal tribute for the family at www.fosterfuneralandcremation.com
