Obituary for Maurine L Baird

Maurine Baird Webster City, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services were be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Hansen Bibb officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation was at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Maurine Lundby Benz, daughter of Martin and Marguerette Lundby Benz, was born at Canton, South Dakota. She graduated from New Hampton high school in 1934. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls in 1938, in 1970, she received her Masters. On January 26, 1952, she married Alfred Ray Baird, Jr. at Faribault, MN. She taught elementary education in the Webster City school system for over 30 years. Mr. Baird died March 1, 1999. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and chapter J.E. of P.E.O.
