Obituary for Mary Christeson

Mary Loretta Schiltz daughter of Peter and Cecelia Bunker Schiltz was born on January 26, 1917 at Bancroft, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from Bancroft High School in 1935. Mary attended St. Joseph Nursing College in Mason City where she earned her A.A. degree in Nursing. On October 1, 1941 she married Dean M. Christeson at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. The couple resided on their farm south of Webster City. Mr. Christeson died on May 29, 1977. Mary moved to Webster City in 1978. She had been residing at Crestview Senior Living since January 26, 2003. Mary is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta (Chris) and Joe Buscher of Algona; Dorothy Christeson of Mankato, MN; Mary and Steve Struchen of Webster City; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Patty Christeson of Evansville, IN; Stephen and Terri Christeson of Boone; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Grandgenett of Bancroft. In addition to her husband Dean, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Reynold and Richard Schiltz. Mary was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the American Arthritis Association.
