Obituary for LaVonne Ruth Draper

LaVonne Draper, 90, of Webster City, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and at the church prior to the funeral service. LaVonne Ruth Welp, daughter of Henry and Marie Fonken Welp, was born October 3, 1921 at Kamrar. She received her education in the Kamrar Public School where she graduated. On November 27, 1940, she married Keith Edward Draper at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City where they owned and operated Luppes Transport for thirty years. She served as vice-president/bookkeeper. She is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Andy Long of Oskaloosa; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jan Draper of Stillwater, MN; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joyce Jones in 2009 and brother, Raymond Welp. She was a member of Asbury united Methodist Church and the Holiday Rambler RV Club.
