Obituary for Laura Belle Kepler

Laura Kepler, 85, of Webster City, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Foster's Chapel, with Rev. Patrick Wedemeier officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Laura Belle Koob, daughter of Basil and Maude Northrop Koob, was born July 8, 1926 at LuVerne, Iowa. She received her education in Wisconsin and Iowa, graduating in 1943 from Goldfield High School. She had worked at Meredith Publishing Company from 1943 to 1945. On December 21, 1946 she married Robert C. Kepler at Missouri Valley, IA. From 1945 to 1951, she worked as secretary for Beam Manufacturing. For one year, she worked in the engineering department at Morton Frozen Foods. On Dec. 26, 1951, Kathryn Susan Kepler was born to this union. They moved to Minneapolis where they resided until 1968 when they moved to Ontario, Canada. In 1973, they returned to Webster City. Laura and Robert had 64 years of a loving relationship. Laura was Robert's partner in life. She enjoyed reading and researching historical data. They were also blessed with a grandson Scott Robert Ralston on Dec. 1, 1971 Laura is survived by her husband, Robert; grandson, Scott (Melanie) Ralston; great-granddaughter, Edan Andrea Ralston; sisters, Alice Senty of Sheboygan, WI; Dorothy (Cliff ) Hayes of Webster City; Judith (Tom) Pritchard of Callender; several nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Susan Ralston; her parents and sister, Florence Koob. Laura was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1949.
