Obituary for Karen Malmberg

Karen Malmberg, 69, of St. Paul, MN, died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will follow the services at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Karen Kay Kruger, daughter of Verle and Evelyn (Peters) Kruger, was born October 2, 1946 in Webster City. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1965. She attended and completed the one year business course at Webster City Junior College. Karen married John Ely on November 19, 1967 in Webster City. He preceded her in death in 1985. She married John Malmberg on July 1, 1997 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Her first job was at Frazier Finance in Webster City. Her second job was in St Paul at Transport Clearings. Her third and last job was in the AR Department (accounts receivable) at Wilson-McShane Corp in St. Paul where she worked for 40 years. She retired in 2010. Karen is survived by her husband, John of St. Paul, MN; siblings, Kenny (Mary) Kruger of Webster City, Kathy Brockman of Platteville, WI, Kevin Kruger of Webster City, niece; Kara (Ben) Walstrom, nephew; Kraig (Stephanie) Kruger, great nieces; Meredith and Riley Binder, great nephews; Kellen Walstrom and Kade Kruger. She was preceded in death by her parents. Karen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. She enjoyed; cooking, crocheting, reading, and traveling.
