Obituary for Jerry Lee Hubbard

Jerry Hubbard, 66, of Webster City, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Pastor Suzie Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday. Jerry Lee Hubbard, son of Francis and Doris Staley Hubbard, was born March 1, 1948 at Webster City. He attended Webster City Schools, graduating in 1967. On November 27, 1970 he married Jackie Smalley in Webster City. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced. On November 21, 1980, he married Mary Beth Hart in Boone. He worked as a mechanic for Hamilton County Secondary Roads and later became the owner of the Tip Top Café in Boone. Jerry worked many years as a mechanic for Christenson Motors, and service manage/mechanic for Lambi Car and Truck, currently Webster City Auto. Jerry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Stephanie Hubbard of Maple Grove, MN; daughters and sons-in law, Janelle and Marty Herman of Kansas City, MO, Angela and Jeff Wood of Ankeny; grandchildren, Brady and Trevor Hubbard, Payton, Morgan and Hailey Herman, and Miranda Wood; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Marilyn Hubbard of Webster City; sister-in-law, Marene Hubbard of Webster City; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Mary; Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kelly Hubbard and nephew, Dave Hubbard. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, former member of the Moose Family Center and Webster City Jaycees. He enjoyed camping, fishing and going to the races.
