Obituary for Isabelle John

Isabelle Sanders John, 94, of Webster City, died Tuesday, April1, 2008 at the Hamilton Hospital. Private graveside services will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery, north of Stratford, with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Isabelle Audrey Wilcox, daughter of Orlow and Winifred Dixson Wilcox, was born October 18, 1913 on a farm near Ogden. She graduated from Stanhope Consolidated School in 1930. On April 9, 1938, she married Everette Allen Sanders at Stillwater, MN. The couple resided in Minnesota. In 1948, they farmed near Homer. She was employed as a social worker for the State of Iowa for 21 years, retiring in 1978. Mr. Sanders died May 22, 1968. Following her husband's death, she moved from the farm to Webster City. For 22 years, she had resided at Escondido, CA then had resided at Perryville, AR for 5 years. She had been a resident at Crestview Senior Living for the past three years Mrs. John is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Doug Nunes of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Kristi and Brett Ahrens and Marty and Carla Johnson, all of Stratford; David Johnson (Sue Davis) of Osseo, MN; Christopher Nunes of Los Angeles; 7 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Gerald Johnson of Perryville, AR; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Allen Sanders; daughter, Kay Johnson; her parents; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. The family requests no flowers, memorials may be given to their discretion.
