Obituary for Ione Owens

Ione Owens, 85, of Webster City, died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Mildred Ione Beavers, daughter of Lester and Mildred Myers Beavers, was born April 20, 1930 in Woodland. Ione graduated from Garden Groves Schools and went to beauty school in Des Moines. On September 13, 1951, she married Richard Dean Owens in Leon, Iowa. The couple moved to Webster City. Ione was a beautician and had an in home daycare. Her husband preceded her in death on September 28, 2014. Ione is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Dan Doolittle and Beth and Russ Chelesvig, all of Webster City; grandchildren, Leonard (Tara) Fortune of Webster City, Levi Chelesvig of Minneapolis, MN, Graceann Chelesvig of Webster City; great-granddaughter, Addison Fortune; sisters, Madeline Wilson, Nancy Finck, Donna (Arnie) Kempf, Kay (Julie) Kline; brothers; Chuck (Georganna) Beavers, Donald "Dick" Beavers, Lyle Beavers, Jerry (Judy) Beavers, Melvin (Sue) Beavers; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.R. Beavers, Rex Beavers; nephew, John Kline; brothers-in-law, Hubert Wilson, Sonny Finck, Dale Owens; sisters-in-law, Eva Beavers and Jeri Beavers. She was a former member of the Moose Family Center and the Legion Auxiliary. Ione enjoyed golfing, crocheting, needlework and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
