Obituary for Harry Daniels

Harry M. Daniels, 88, of Webster City, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Hamilton County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational -- U.C.C., with Rev. Laird Keever officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Visitation will be two hours before service time. Harry Merton Daniels, son of Charles and Marjorie Shaw Daniels, was born October 16, 1921 at Adams, MA. He graduated from Adams high school. From 1942 to 1945, Harry served with the U.S. Army in North Africa, Italy and Corsica. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport and Warren Institute Business School. In 1954, he married Marian Isebrands in Skokie, IL. The couple resided at Suttons Bay, MI, he worked at Suttons Bay Door Company until 1957 when they moved to Fort Wayne, IN. In 1959, they moved to Webster City. He was employed by Seneca Foundry and the Webster City school system, retiring in 1983. Preceding his death, he was a resident of Crestview Manor in Webster City. Harry is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Don Cowell of Johnston; son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bubba) and Jolene Daniels of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Michael, Megan, and Mindy Cowell; Breanna and Brandon Daniels; great-grandson, Lincoln Cowell; sister, Phyllis Sanderson of Cheshire, MA; brother, Robert Daniels of Martha's Vineyard, MA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; his parents; daughter, Doris Ruppel; granddaughters, Laura Cowell and Brooke Daniels; sister, Marjorie Majors. He was a member of the First Congregational -- U.C.C.; American Legion Post # 191; V.F.W.; Acacia Lodge # 176 -- AF & AM; Moose Family Center and the Webster City Bowling Association.
