Obituary for Frank Junior Davis

Franklin J. Davis, 88, of Stanhope, died Monday, September 8, 2014 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Suzie Moore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawn Hill Cemetery south of Stanhope. Franklin Junior Davis, son of Frank and Garnet Hawkins Davis, was born July 28, 1926 at Clarion. He attended Stanhope Consolidated Schools. On June 19, 1948 he was united in marriage to Ramona Eileen Story in Fort Dodge. The couple moved to Stanhope in 1951. The couple started Davis Truck lines in 1952 which they operated until Frank's retirement in 1991. Frank is survived by his wife, Ramona of Stanhope; daughter, Janet and Gerald Bearden of Ankeny; daughter-in-law, Marj and Mike Majors of Webster City; grandchildren, Krisha, Korey, Amy, Angie, Heather, and Stephanie; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell and Amber Davis of Ames; and step-sister, Beverly Reinhart of Boone. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Nicholas Davis; sister, Cheryl Greenley and brother-in-law; Frank Greenley. Frank was a member of Stanhope Parish Church, the IA Motor Truck Association and the Bull Haulers Group. He enjoyed fishing, his motor home and wintering in Arizona.
