Obituary for Florence Julia "Flossie" Wilson

Florence "Flossie" Wilson, 95, of Webster City, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, with Pastor Patrick Wiedemeier, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Florence Julia Gabrielson was born October 2, 1919 on a farm southeast of Stratford, the daughter of John and Julia Ulrick Gabrielson. She attended Harmony Center rural school. On September 15, 1946, she married Vernon Wilson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple farmed in the Webster City, Callender and Blairsburg areas. She worked for several years at Hahne Printing. Due to Vernon's failing health, the couple moved to Webster City in 1969. Vernon had resided at Crestview from December of 1990 until his death on August 9, 1992. Flossie moved to the Crestview Apartments in 2006 and later to Crestview Senior Living. Flossie is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Martin, Clifford, Albert, C.A. (Dick), Myron (Pete), Reuben (Frank) and Dennis Gabrielson; sisters, Elsie Batey and Rosie Larson; niece, Jean Woodard.
