Obituary for Evelyn Elizabeth Kruger

Evelyn Kruger, 91, of Webster City, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mike Kroona and Rev. Kari Foss, officiating . Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Evelyn Elizabeth Peters, daughter of Julius and Mary Wood Peters, was born January 18, 1923 in Centertown, MO. She started her education in Centertown and completed it in Webster City after moving with her family. She married Verle A. Kruger on April 12, 1943 at Fort Smith, AR. She lived most of her life in Webster City. She worked for Selby's, then Morton's Frozen Foods, then Hahne Printing and retired from Handi-Klasp in 1985. Verle preceded her in death on February 9, 1998. Evelyn is survived by her children, Karen (John) Malmberg of St. Paul, MN, Kenneth (Mary) Kruger of Webster City, Kathleen Brockman of Platteville, WI and Kevin Kruger of Webster City; grandchildren, Kraig (Stephanie) Kruger and Kara (Ben) Walstrom, all of Webster City; great-grandchildren, Meredith and Riley Binder, Kellen Walstrom, Kade Kruger; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Earl, Vernon and Victor Peters; sister, Mary Pearl Peters; sons-in-law, Richard Brockman and John Ely Jr. Evelyn was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, fishing and sewing. Most of all, she loved being with her family and friends.
