Obituary for Ethel Mae Clausen

Ethel Clausen, 77, of Stanhope, died Sunday, June 18, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Suzie Moore officiating. Burial will be in Lawnhill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the funeral home. Ethel Mae Kelley, daughter of Elmer and Lucille Johnston Kelley, was born October 29, 1939 at Jefferson. She received her education at the Stanhope Public School, graduating in 1958. On September 7, 1958, she married William Roger Clausen at Stanhope. The couple farmed south of Stanhope. She was a cook for six years and worked for 17 years at Webster City Custom Meats. Roger preceded her in death in 2008. Ethel is survived by her son, Charles (Shelley) Clausen; daughter, Cathy (Rod) Springer all of Stanhope; grandchildren, Seth and Sarah Clausen; great-grandson, Wyatt Clausen; twin brother, Elmer (Mary) Kelley of Willow Oak, FL; and sister, Nancy Vinchattle of Stratford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger; and brother, Fred Kelley. She was a member of the Stanhope Parish Church, the Eastern Star in Boone and the 10:00 a.m. ladies coffee group. Write a personal tribute for the family at www.fosterfuneralandcremation.com.
