Obituary for Eldon John Hinderks

Eldon J. Hinderks, 73, of Woolstock, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Baptist Church, with Pastor Terry Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday. Eldon John Hinderks, son of Henry and Jennie Klooster Hinderks, was born February 25, 1939 on a farm near Kamrar. He attended Kamrar Public School. On June 7, 1959, he married Lanita Marie Weir at Kamrar. He worked for Baker Trucking and Franklin's until 1968 when he began farming north of Blairsburg. They moved to Woolstock in 1970 where he continued farming and raised his family. Eldon loved the Lord and was saved at the age of 19. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and usher for many years. He retired in 1995. He had resided at Crestview Senior Living for the past five years. Mr. Hinderks is survived by his wife, Lanita; sons and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mary Jane Hinderks of Woolstock; Craig Hinderks of Wayzata, MN; grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb and Jack Hinderks; sisters-in-law, Luella Hinderks, Karen Hinderks and Ruth Hinderks, all of Webster City; Lorraine Hinderks of Jewell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis, Leo, Arvin, Merrill and Kenneth Hinderks; sister, Doris Hinderks. Memorials may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church.
