Obituary for Donna Mae Hansen

Donna Hansen, 82, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Iowa Veteran's Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Foster Chapel in Webster City, with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to service time on Friday. Donna Mae Jaynes, daughter of Bob and Vera Esther Morrow Jaynes, was born December 1, 1927 at Williams. She received her education in the Williams Public School. On May 4, 1957, she married Herbert Eugene Hansen at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple farmed near Williams where Donna was a homemaker, until December of 1983, when they moved to Prairie City. Herb and Donna moved to the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown in September 2009. Donna is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Sherry Hansen of Prairie City; Dave and Annette Hansen of Norwalk; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Marty DeDecker of Altoona; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and June Schweibert of Webster City; Wilbur and Elaine Hansen of Ankeny; Kenny and Shirley Hansen of Turin, Bob and Ruth Cook of Iowa Falls; Clara and Laverne Bell of Woolstock; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Denny Hansen: daughter, Kathy Hansen; sister, Carmen Jaynes and brother, Roger Jaynes. She was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, United Methodist Ladies Aide, Williams American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Ladies of the Iowa Veteran's Home.
