Obituary for Caroline Walton

Caroline C. Walton, 90, of Webster City, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Hamilton Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Graceland Cemetery, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Caroline Clarene Burckle, daughter of Walter and Louvie Wickwire Burckle, was born December 4, 1919 at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system. On June 19, 1949, she married Raymond G. Walton. The couple resided at Mt. Vernon. She was employed as a cook for Cornell College for many years. Mr. Walton died April 5, 1992. In 2003, she moved to Webster City. Caroline is survived by her sister, Betty (John) Simpson of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Inez Burckle of Webster City; nieces and nephews, Bobby Simpson, Cathy and Ted Mizer, William Simpson and John H. Simpson, all of Arizona; Diane and Bill Crystal of Stratford; Kay and Don Roberts of Des Moines; Carole and Denny Burgin of Centerville; Beverly and David Ask of Harlan; Judith and Jerry Hesselberth of Morton, IL. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ralph and Alfred Burckle; sister-in-law Dorothy Burckle; nephews, Michael Simpson and Dan Burckle.
