Obituary for Bret Alan Schroeder

Bret Alan Schroeder, 32, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at his home in Stratford, Iowa. Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at the Fort Dodge Seventh-day Adventist Church, 737 15th Ave N, Fort Dodge with Pastor Hubert Bardin officiating. Bret Alan Schroeder, son of Sheila Marie Bell and Henry Thomas Schroeder, was born on March 23, 1979 in Ames, IA. Bret grew up in Stratford and attended Webster City High School Class of 1998. He worked at Electrolux until he was laid off and has been attending classes at Iowa Central Community College in the Auto Collision Technology program where he maintained a 4.0 grade point average. He worked part time at A&M Auto Body. Bret was an avid outdoors man and spent much of his time fishing and hunting. Bret was known and liked by many and loved dearly by his family. Bret was survived by his mother and step-father, Sheila Bell and Clark Benson, Stratford; his sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Brian Schwering, Dayton; his brother, Cody Schroeder, Stratford; his grandma, Evelyn Smith, Stratford; three nephews, Randy, Dylan and Jonathan Schwering and three nieces, Shyla, Natosha and Chelsie Schwering; aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Bret was preceded in death by his father; his grandfather, Richard (Dick) Smith, Stratford; grandparents, Warren G. and Ruth (Keeler) Schroeder of Estherville. Foster Funeral Home, Webster City helped with arrangements.
