Obituary for Avonne Lorraine Hoops

Avonne Hoops, 86, of Webster City, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Southfield Wellness Community. Her body was donated to the Des Moines University for scientific research. A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bridge, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be at the at the Bridge from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday. Avonne Lorraine House, daughter of Jerry and Rose Merritt House, was born February 16, 1925 at Jewell. She received her education in the Jewell and Webster City schools. She had resided in Webster City and had been employed at Southfield Wellness Community, Crestview Senior Living, Executive Inn, Jewell Mink Farm and the Ellsworth Turkey Processing Plant. She had been a resident of Southfield for the past four years. Avonne is survived by daughters, Kim Schwandt (Ron Woodle) of Duncombe; Judy Burton (Jerry) of Williams; Donna Mealey of Des Moines; son, Rich Robb of Dows; grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Burton of West Des Moines; Stephanie Schwandt (Tim) and Rebecca Schwandt (Kenny) all of Webster City; Sherrie Jones and David Jones of Des Moines; 4 other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Karsen Nicholson of Webster City; True, Braidon, and Melissa all of Des Moines; and 13 other great grandchildren; sister, Ellen Caquelin of Woolstock; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 granddaughter; sister, Ione House and brother, Pete House. Avonne was a member of the Church of Christ in Webster City.
