Obituary for Anna Marie Gerard

Anna Marie Gerard, 84, of Duncombe, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Pastor Tony Ede officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Township at Duncombe. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Anna Marie Willardson, daughter of William and Elta Myrl Baldwin Willardson was born March 16, 1927 in Webster City. She lived in rural Webster City until her family moved to a farm near Fort Dodge in 1940. She received her education at Cooper Township rural school and attended Fort Dodge Senior High School. Anna married Clyde Royster Jr. They farmed near Duncombe and the Brushy Creek Area and later divorced. On Oct. 30, 1985 Anna Marie married Paul Joseph (Pook) Gerard in North Carolina. The couple resided at Duncombe. Paul died December 22, 1990. She had worked at Casey's, Buckley and Bush Implement in Dayton and been involved with farming. Anna is survived by her children, Douglas Royster of Ruthven; Robert Royster of Webster City; Marie Royster Gerard of Duncombe; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence (Dorothy) Willardson of Gowrie; Donald (Janice) Willardson of Overton, TX; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fred Willardson. Anna Marie was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, all kinds of crafts, gardening, camping, fishing, playing Bingo, being with her family and friends. She will be missed by many.
