Obituary for Alma Culpepper

Alma M. Culpepper, 86, of Webster City, died Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the service time at the church. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Alma M. Grimstead, daughter of Leman and Essie Owens Grimstead, was born October 31, 1921 at Norfolk, VA. After graduating from High School, she met Cully and they later married in South Mills, NC on September 6, 1941. While Cully was in the U.S. Army, she resided in Virginia Beach, VA. Following his discharge, they resided at Norfolk, VA. They moved to Beaver, Iowa in 1950. In 1957, they moved to Webster City. She was employed at Farmer National Bank in customer relations, retiring in 1984. Mr. Culpepper died January 20, 1986. Mrs. Culpepper is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Ann Culpepper of Ellsworth; Herb and Linda Culpepper of Tempe, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Gary Deboer of Checotoh, OK; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Shafer of Shenandoah; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward Grimstead. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ.
