Mona Bowden, 56, of Alden, died, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams with Father Stephen Meyer, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery following the services. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary and a 7:00 pm. Scripture service.

Mona Michelle Ricke, daughter of John and Betty Fry Ricke, was born, June 20, 1962 in Webster City. She graduated from Northeast Hamilton in 1980 and received her accounting degree from Iowa State University. She married Keith Richard Bowden on June 23, 1984 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williams. Mona worked as the school board secretary for NEH. In 1991 she received her law degree from the University of Iowa. Mona practiced law for 25 years in Iowa Falls at High, Bowden, Stockdale Law Firm.

She is survived by her husband, Keith of Alden; children; Brenna (Kevin) Garland of Tucson, AZ, Lane Bowden of Alden, Dana Bowden of Iowa Falls, Kael Bowden of Alden; parents, John and Betty Ricke of Clarion; sisters, Johna (Todd) Clancy of Indianola, Lori (Eric Dunn) Ricke of St. Paul, MN, Natalie (Duane) Short of Ames; brother, Ted (Kari) Ricke of Williams; mother-in-law, Louise Bowden of Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Mona was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law, Richard Bowden.

Mona was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving as the church pianist and on the Parish Council. She was a member of the Iowa Bar Association.
