Obituary for Helen Lucile Cramer (Woodard)

Helen Cramer, 98, of Webster City, formerly of Blairsburg, died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Bethany Life in Story City. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Shirbroun officiating, a close family friend. Burial will follow the services at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the church.
Helen Lucile Cramer, the daughter of Lester and Ethel Woodard, was born on January 29, 1920. She attended Homer school and graduated from Lincoln High in 1939. She went to Cedar Falls UNI teachers college and received her teaching certificate. On July 1, 1943 she was united in marriage to Charles Raymond Cramer.
Charles served his country in the army during World War II. Helen taught rural school. In March of 1947, Charles and Helen moved to the Wright County farm where they lived for 53 years. Helen kept everyone well fed during the farming season and took many meals to the fields during the busiest times. Helen and Charles enjoyed going to farm seminars together.
They were blessed with one daughter and one granddaughter. Supporting their activities was always a top priority.
Helen and Charles enjoyed 66 wonderful years together. Charles passed away in 2010.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Kent Larson of Webster City; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lisa and West Steel of Des Moines; sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Henry Brain of Fort Dodge; sister-in-­law, Joan Woodard of Webster City; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brother, Floyd Woodard; sister-in-law, Oriel Adelle Woodard; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Mae Etta Cramer.
She was a long-time member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be directed to the Asbury United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
