H. Dean Simpson, 92, of Webster City, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Craig Blaufuss, officiating. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery following the services. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harold Dean Simpson, son of Murray and Leno Tweedie Simpson, was born May 13, 1926 in Webster City. He graduated from Lincoln High. He married Evelyn A. Crystal on October 13, 1945 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Dean farmed southwest of Webster City for many years and assisted in driving school bus for Webster City schools.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Webster City; son, Bruce (Diane) Simpson of Cantonment, FL; daughter, Tarry Myers of Story City; granddaughters, Jacki (Jeff) Edge of Bolivar, MO and Jodi (Brad) Woods of Cantonment, FL; great-grandchildren, Katie, Natalie, and Nicole Woods and Maddy Edge; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard (Pearl) Simpson
Dean enjoyed collecting antiques, competing in tractor pulls, supporting Lynx athletics, eating strawberry marble ice cream, and camping at the Iowa State Fair for 72 years.
