Wes Sweedler, 67, of Williams died Monday, July 21, 2025 at home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williams. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025 at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is caring for Wes and his family.

Wesley Dean Sweedler, son of Kenneth and Arlene (Mogle) Sweedler, was born October 8,1957 in Iowa Falls. He graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in 1975 and attended Iowa Central Community College for diesel mechanics. On March 11, 1979, Wes was united in marriage to Cindi Baade in Titonka. He farmed with his father on the family century farm, served as Hamilton County Supervisor from 2001-2016 and most recently worked for Titan Machinery in the parts department.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cindi; daughter, Elizabeth Sweedler and son, Kyle (friend Jessica) Sweedler all of Williams; sister, Charlotte (Doug) Moore of Wichita, KS; nephews, Jeff (Karen) Moore and Matthew Moore both of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Maria (John) Hillgartner of Fort Madison; niece, Lindsey Hillgartner of Madison, WI; nephew, Vance Hillgartner of Fort Madison, and several aunts and cousins.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a lifelong member of the Williams Methodist Church. Wes served on the regional juvenile detention board, currently the Williams Library Board and as a Williams Township Trustee, was a Williams Development Corporation founder and officer. He enjoyed Harley Davidsons, NASCAR races, was an exceptional gardner and an avid college football fan – especially those Iowa Hawkeyes and UNI Panthers. He will always be remembered as the community Santa Claus.
