Wayne Westberg

Wayne Westberg, 79, of Woolstock died Sunday, August 23, 2026 surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Wayne Eugene Westberg, son of Lawrence and Gladys (Hockel) Westberg, was born October 2, 1946 in Humboldt. He graduated from Humboldt high school. On November 26, 1967, Wayne was united in marriage to Sylvia Jean Halterman in Gilmore City. Over the years the couple resided in Humboldt, Rutland, Webster City and Woolstock. He enjoyed helping friends with their farming operations. Wayne had worked for Webster City Custom Meats prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his son, Scott Westberg of Webster City; daughters, Jeanie Westberg of Minnesota and Christina (Matthew) Romp of Woolstock; six grandchildren, Lacey Westberg, Ben Westberg, Locklind Westberg, Hope, Lily and Isabella Romp; and one great grandson Leland. Wayne is also survived by his sister, Marie (Jack) Haas and brother, Robert (Linda) Westberg both of Humboldt.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; his parents, Lawrence and Gladys; and his brothers, Gary, Larry and Royal Westberg and sisters, Janette and Mary Ann George.
