Thelma Newman

Thelma Newman, 82, of Webster City died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Pastor Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thelma Jean Roe, daughter of Otto and Janette Abramson Roe, was born on May 10, 1935 in Radcliffe. Thelma graduated from the Radcliffe High School. She married Robert Neil Newman on February 24, 1957 in Webster City. Thelma was a homemaker raising her seven sons. Later she worked for Morton Foods and Beam. Robert preceded her in death on September 20, 1989. Thelma is survived by her sons, Jerry Newman, Wes (Karin) Newman, Jeff (Becky) Newman, Chris (Kate) Newman and Mike (Honey) Newman, all of Webster City; daughters-in-law, Bert Newman of Fort Dodge, Kyong Newman of Webster City; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Hilpipre of Eagle Grove; and many extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; sons, Paul and Denny Newman and brother, Richard Roe. Thelma enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts and puzzles.
