Tammy Jo Ida Zorn, daughter of Victor Zorn and Pammala Thies, was born February 10, 1968 in Iowa Falls. She attended Northeast Hamilton school and graduated from Iowa Central Community College with an associated degree in Nursing. Tammy’s 30-year nursing career found her working in Iowa Falls, Webster City, Ames, Ankeny and currently with Unity Point-Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines as a Patient Care Coordinator. She will be missed by many of her patients and coworkers.
Growing up Tammy proved to be a willful child with smarts that sometimes bowed down to her rowdy ways. As she always said, “I paved the way for you younger ones, with all the stuff I did. Nothing could surprise Mom and Dad now.” She was a protective older sister to her younger siblings, always making sure they were taken care of. Tammy was never afraid to put anyone in their place. She was a wonderful nurse, whose knowledge was greater than most and she was always willing to help someone down on their luck. Tammy always saw the best in people.
She is survived by her children, Tanner Hennick of Cedar Rapids, Hannah (boyfriend, Bryan) Hennick of Ames; grandchildren, Kendal, Thaelynn, Bentley, Terynce, Adelynn, Kynslee, Canaan, Paisley; parents, Pam (Tom) Schutt of Williams, Vic (Mary) Zorn of Williams; siblings, Nick Schutt of Alden, Flint Schutt of Williams, Cory (Sarah) Zorn of Williams, Dusty (Paula) Schutt of Iowa Falls, Jessica (Todd) Hiemstra of Williams and many nieces and nephews.
Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lillian and Ernest Thies, and sister, Brenda Zorn.
She enjoyed dancing, spending time with her grandkids, baking days every Christmas with her dad Tom, bonfires, races and camping. There was never an adventure too big for Tammy to explore. She was a brave soul that is now set free from pain. She will be looking out for all of us from above. Rest easy and know you are always in our thoughts.
