Susan Shaw, 80, of Stanhope died Saturday, October 19, 2024 at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for the family.
Susan Kaye Rush, daughter of Gaylord and Mabel Lawson Rush, was born July 16, 1944 in Ames. She attended grade school in Stanhope and graduated from Boone High School in 1962. In October of 1962, Susan was united in marriage to Robert Ray Shaw III in Stanhope. The couple later divorced. She was a local sales lady for Avon and had several other jobs over the years.
She is survived by her son, Robert Shaw IV of Biloxi, MS and daughter, Lori Shaw and boyfriend, Mont Newcomb of Boone, IA.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Barb Lorentzen and Wanda Lingren.
She enjoyed reading Steven King books and was an avid TV watcher.
