Ruth Ruppel

Ruth Ruppel, 94, of Webster City, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center one hour before the memorial service. Ruth Lenore Westwick, daughter of Jacob and Carrie Hill Westwick, was born October 9, 1917 on a farm in Rose Grove Township. She received her education in rural schools and graduated from Ellsworth high school. On March 22, 1936, she married Edward Milton Ruppel at the Williams Lutheran Church Parsonage. The couple resided in Webster City then moved to the family farm and later retired and moved to Webster City. Mr. Ruppel died Decmber 22, 2004. She was a homemaker. She had been residing at Southfield Wellness Community since April of 2009. Mrs. Ruppel is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Larry Jacobson of Woolstock; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Ann Ruppel of Bettendorf; Rick and Mary Ruppel of Story City; grandchildren, Cheri Comstock, Kreg Jacobson and Kyle Ruppel; six great-granddaughters; a great-great-grandson; two nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Brook Daniels in 2003; brothers, Elmer, Jesse, Merlyn and Leonard Westwick; sisters, Leona Jensen and Irene Iverson.
