Russell Fister, 72, of Webster City died Monday, September 11, 2023 at Van Diest Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Graceland Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Russell Henry Fister, son of Roland and Mary Kendall Fister, was born May 1, 1951 in Jefferson. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1969. On July 12, 1969, Russell was united in marriage to Janet Lee Williams in Webster City. He worked for Van Diest Supply as a trucker and the Hamilton County Landfill, retiring in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet; daughters, Christine (Jason) Dingman of Webster City, Jamie Fister of Stratford; grandchildren, Amanda Gamble, Amber Bakken, Victoria Fister, Kyle Shook, Curtis Shook, Nattalie Shook; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Fister of Jackson, MN, Betty Haga of Scottsville, VA, Donna Wildt of Stanhope; brother, Jim (Cindy) Anderson of Fort Dodge and sister-in-law, Sonja Fister of Norfolk, NE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rusty Fister; brother, Roland Fister and brothers-in-law, Jim Haga and Wally Wildt.
Russell was a past member of the Moose Lodge and the Webster City Bowling Association. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, and working in the pit crew at the racetrack.
