Rosemary Wing

Rosemary Wing, 92, a longtime resident of Stanhope died Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Lawn Hill Cemetery, south of Stanhope. Refreshments will follow at Stanhope Parish Church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Rosemary Madonna Plotner, daughter of Walter and Myrtle (Dixon) Plotner, was born October 22, 1931 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Gowrie High in 1950. On August 13, 1950, Rosemary was united in marriage to Dennis Lind Wing in Gowrie. She worked for 43 years at the Stanhope Locker from 1962 – 2006. Rosemary was residing at Indian Creek Assisted Living in Nevada for the last three years.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Sue) Wing of Grant, AL, Julie (Edward) Dumoulin of Marshalltown, Bill (Beth) Wing of Stanhope; grandchildren, Lindsay, Jessica, and Emily; six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis in 2021; her parents; brother, John Plotner and great-grandson, Carter Schwartz.
She was a member of the Stanhope Parish. She enjoyed her coffee gatherings with friends and caring for her yard. Rosemary had a quick wit. She was a meticulous housekeeper and enjoyed her years working at the locker. Rosemary was always asked to bring her famous potato salad to every event. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
