Richard Bass

Richard “Dick” Bass, age 70 of Stratford, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. Below is a poem he wanted those left behind to read in his memory. There will be no services. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Dick and his family.
When it comes the day I die,
Don’t shed no tears from your eye.
I wish happiness for those I know,
Not discontent and feelings of woe.
If I was to touch one person you see,
That was enough satisfaction for me.
So, remember only good times, not the bad,
And always remember the fun we had.
Most of you put a smile on my face,
And very few of you got on my case.
So please don’t forget me, as I’ll never forget you,
Because there’s nothing like friends, especially as true as you.
